Curriculum
Our curriculum is specially designed to teach children (ages 4 & up) to speak, read and write Chinese. Chinese culture, history, crafts and games are blended with Chinese language instruction. Through many fun-filled activities and individual instructions, students at SCA learn quickly and effectively.
Our Preschool curriculum is designed to teach children between ages 4 to 6 to speak Chinese.They learn through songs, rhymes, stories and fun games.
Our Track A curriculum is for (but not limited to) students (age 6 and up) who understand spoken Chinese and have a Chinese speaking environment at home.They use Zhong Wen as their textbook and are required to spend more time in reading and writing Chinese.
Our Track B curriculum is for (but not limited to) students (age 6 and up) who do not yet understand spoken Chinese and usually do not have a Chinese speaking environment at home.They use Han Yu as their textbook and focus primarily on conversational Chinese.
Our goal is to help each of our students master all three aspects of Chinese language learning: speaking, reading and writing. Students are expected to have weekly homework and one or two exams each quarter depending the duration of the quarter.
