WHAT PARENTS SAY ABOUT OUR SUMMER PROGRAM

"My son Alan has attended SCA for Summer camp and regular weekly learning programs for the past two years. His Chinese skills, both reading and speaking has improved steadily and visibly. Before he attended SCA, he rarely opened his month for a single Chinese. Now he speaks Chinese more often and with confidence. Besides his improvement in Chinese, he has also learned a lot from other curriculum enrichment activities offered by SCA, such as Arts, Chess, Singapore Math etc. and benefited greatly from the unique Chinese experience that SCA is able to offer through its numerous Chinese culture related events and activities. We, as parents, have also benefited greatly from the extra convenience that SCA is offering such as kids pickup, camp launches - all happening during our busy work hour... I look forward to having my son there again for another fun and learning summer camp."
Tony Wang

"Both our sons, 5 and 7 years old, attended summer camp at SCA last year (2007). Both Jadrian and Damian have enjoyed their time there very much and their Chinese have improved tremendously after the summer camp. The teachers in SCA are very loving and the programs are well organized and tailored for different age group and levels. It is a fun learning environment for kids to go in the summer."
Suet Tin and Chi Png

"Our daughter, Holly (4), attended SCA 2007 summer class, and apparently she enjoyed it very much. The teacher, staff, and especially some 'big' kid helpers are so friendly, she was having good time, as well as learning. Even six months later, while we drove by the SCA site, she sometimes would pop out "I miss my Chinese school!". We believe this is a great way for her to spend the summer, in a relatively relaxed, but yet activity-enriched learning schedule."
Lan Han & Harold Zhu

"Our daughter, Alice (12), and son, Adam (5,) have attended the SCA summer camp for the past two years. They have loved it! Everyday when we picked them up at 3:00pm, we literally had to drag my son from the classroom ¨C he just did not want to leave! We were also amazed to find out that our daughter learned more and more Chinese culture and history every day, and that our son could sing even more Chinese songs. Both of them were also very happy to show us the crafts they had made and were excited to tell us the fun brain teasers they played at school. We are very pleased with the SCA program and strongly recommend it to all those who are interested."
Linda Jin & David Dong

"Our 6-year-old son, Brent, has been taking classes and summer programs at SCA for almost two years. He absolutely loves it. The programs are well organized, and the learning materials are systematic and well suited to children of different ages and levels. The teachers and staff are very friendly and creative, and they have made learning a lot of fun. Our son has made consistent progress in learning the Chinese language in both writing and speaking. The summer program at SCA also includes a healthy lunch. Together with the enjoyable environment at SCA, we feel that SCA is our definite choice for Brent for this coming summer."
Carol & Mason Li

"SCA is enabling us to give my children a wonderful gift -- the gift of speaking a second language. Their summer program is a fun way to give kids a jump start to learning Mandarin and although we have no native speakers at home, our children have made great progress in learning the language. We¡¯re thrilled to be able to expose them to this experience at such a young age, which will make the learning process so much easier for them. The teachers at SCA are kind and caring and really make the classes fun. We are looking forward to another fun summer program this year!"
Bill & Heidi Rielly

"Both our sons, who were 4 and 6, attended the 2006 SCA summer program. They enjoyed it immensely, made a number of new friends, and most importantly they were officially introduced to the Chinese language. My older son learned how to write some Chinese characters, while my younger son advanced significantly in his usage of Chinese. He still loves to sing those Chinese rhymes he learned last summer. The teachers are professional and passionate towards early childhood education. Because our sons had such a rewarding experience, we decided to enroll both of them in the 2006 fall program. Since then, both of them have made so much progress that we continue to hold our deep appreciation for the teachers¡¯ hard work at SCA. We¡¯ll definitely come back for the 2007 SCA summer program."
Camilla Wang & Sam Tang

"Our 6 year old daughter Erin first attended SCA summer program in 2005 and she had a great time learning a new language and meeting new friends. The teachers and staff at SCA are caring, encouraging and always made learning fun. In addition to learning Chinese, Erin really enjoyed the field trips. She¡¯s proud that she¡¯s learning a new language and often calls up Grandpa and Grandma to show them how much she¡¯s learned. Of course, they¡¯re delighted to hear her speak in Chinese. We¡¯re looking forward to the summer program in 2006 for both Erin and her little brother Erik."
Sean & Sandy Bethune

"We were very pleased with the 2005 Summer Program. Even though Joshua, at four years old, was one of the youngest participants we felt the instruction was appropriate for his level. He enjoyed it immensely, made a number of friends, and most importantly he advanced significantly in his grasp and usage of Chinese. When we went back to China in December Joshua easily understood and conversed with his grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Chinese. He also made friends with other children we encountered on the playground and enjoyed playing with them. Since Joshua had such a rewarding experience we are looking forward to enrolling him in the 2006 Summer program and we have recommended Sammamish Chinese Academy to our friends who recently moved with their three children to the Sammamish area from California."
Tom & Jenny Reardon

"Our four years old son attended 2005 SCA summer program. He enjoyed SCA summer program very much. He made progress in Chinese and his math skill improved. He came home to sing Chinese songs, and told us what the correct pronunciation is. He also enjoyed field trip to pick up blueberry. Yes he remembers it and even talks about it half year later. Like other kids, he loved lunch at school. Teachers are professional and passionate towards early childhood education. We observed that all teachers at school are loving and caring. Definitely he will return to 2006 SCA summer program"
Ming and Ping Weng

"The Sammamish Chinese Academy 2004 summer program created an environment that was fun, ordered and realistic for my child. The materials and facilities were all sized for the children's learning and exploration. The teacher acted as a facilitator of activities within this environment, as well as a role model of respectful behavior. The academy teacher respected my child and his choices. My child was an active participant in the learning and was encouraged to work independently or in groups with other children. The academy also provided thoughtful daily lunch for the children, which was a big help for many of the working parents." Jin Liu & Yu Fu

"Both of sons have enrolled with Sammamish Chinese Academy for the past few years. They enjoyed the program; the teachers and the school enviornment. We are impressed with our boys' Chinese progression though out each session. They are looking forward to another exciting summer camp at Chinese Academy this year." Elaine & Wayne Guan

"Our son Jerry attended 2004 SCA Summer program. It was his first time to attend SCA Summer program. He loved it! Not only the programs offered interesting activities for kids, the teachers at Sammamish Chinese Academy are very loving and caring. As parents, we are not only very happy to see the progress he made in speaking and writing Chinese, but also feel contented that SCA provided a safe, caring and fun enviroment for my son so we can feel ease at work. We are looking forward to another exciting SCA Summer program." Joan & George Tsui

"Joshua had attended the Summer Program twice and he enjoyed being there. I remember how surprised I was to hear him sing/recite more than 10 Chinese rhymes and songs by the end of a summer. He was able to learn Chinese and do math work there. He liked to play games with other kids- Origami, Tangrams, chess, etc. The actives are both learning and entertaining. The lunches are nutritious -Teacher Wang's stir-fired rice was always a hit." Monica Gao & Eway Zhan

"My eldest son attended summer'03 program. Prior to this experience, he had no exposure to the Chinese language. After the first week of attendance, he was so excited about his work and he wanted to attend it yearlong. SCA made it fun to learn the language and its culture. The teachers here are well experienced in their teaching styles and present the materials in a way that is fun to learn. This school has made learning so enjoyable that he doesn't realize he's going to school to learn! He always looks forward to going and thinks its "cool" to know another language besides English. His enthusiasm has sparked his younger brother to attend as well."
Nancy Ta & Howard Cheng

"Our son Nikko has been attending SCA's summer program since 2001. Last year, our daughter Adriana was happy that she could finally join her big brother. We have been very pleased with their progress in Chinese and the commitment from the teachers. SCA has truly provided a wonderful learning environment for children's Chinese education."
Jun-Shan Wey and David Rush

"Both Michelle (7) and Mitchell (4 1/2) were enrolled in the summer program last year. Aside from the fun activities like strawberry/blueberry picking field trips and arts and crafts which they particulary enjoyed, both kids made good friends and learned Chinese. We were, especially, impressed by Mitchell's progress. Mitchell started off not speaking a word of Chinese. However, under Wang Lao Shi's creative and fun instruction, Mitchell can now belt out a tune and speaks few phrases in Chinese."

"It was our first summer living in Seattle. Our 3 yrs old son Nathan and 5 yrs old daughter Cynthis were not completely adjusted to the new environment given the fact that they were having lots of cousins/relatives and friends to play with prior to the relocation. Shortly after the 2003 summer program at Sammamish Chinese Academy started, they were so excited and can*t wait to go back to school the next day. All the teachers at school are very loving and kind to the kids. In our opinion, this is the perfect program where we know our kids are learning and having fun the same time. Even now (Feb 04), they can*t wait to go back to the summer program whenever we talk about it."
Yovnne Yeung & Curt Wong

"Our son attended the summer program in Sammamish Chinese Academy last summer. He especially enjoyed learning Chinese songs and rhymes and shared proudly with us at home. He also had fun experiences from different activities and made friends. Thanks to all the dedicated staff for providing the enjoyable and safe learning environment! Our son is expecting another exciting summer in SCA!"
Jianping Yao & Jiang Xu

¡°Ian truly enjoyed his experience over the summer. He was more interested in speaking to me in Chinese and his Chinese has improved a lot over the summer. There were times that he would ask me on how to say certain things in Chinese, just an example of how much more interested he was in learning Chinese. I think the fact that there were other Chinese kids like him at school made him feel that learning Chinese is a norm instead of a chore.¡±
Katherine & Arthur Yeo

"Our son, Ryan attended the 2002 summer program at Chinese Academy. We were pleased that the program sparked Ryan's interest in Chinese. Ryan enjoyed his teachers and was excited to learn different Chinese songs, Chinese characters and various riddles. He even taught his 2 year old brother some Chinese rhymes and riddles too! Ryan is looking forward to another exciting summer camp at Chinese Academy this year."
Elaine and Wayne Guan

"Our daughter Amber is a third generation Chinese American. Amber had indicated how she wanted to learn Chinese and asked us to find her a Chinese school to attend so we enrolled her at Sammamish Chinese Academy last summer (2002). Amber really enjoyed learning Chinese and the enrichment classes and has continued with Chinese school since then. We are so happy that our daughter is learning about her heritage and is learning to communicate in Chinese."
Tim and Susana Lee

"Our 7-year-old daughter has been taking Chinese lesson at SCA since last summer (2002). We feel happy for her in choosing SCA from the very beginning. We are impressed by the progress she has been making in reading and writing Chinese. The school's commitments in making learning a second language enjoyable, working effectively with parents and providing children with a safe learning environment definitely make SCA one of the best Chinese schools to attend in Seattle."
Jamie and Phil Liaw

"Both my 10 year old son and 8 year old daughter attended summer school again last year (2002). Since attending the Sammamish Chinese Academy, my children's speaking and reading abilities have improved markedly and the summer programs always help them take a giant leap forward before starting back in with their other academic commitments during the school year. The memorizing aspect inherent in learning Chinese language has complimented their academic studies especially in math and my kids always have high grades in spelling etc. due to honed ability to see and memorize with greater ease."
Rachel Knight and Jonathan Love

"We would like to express our delight with SCA. Our two children, ages 4 and 7 were in SCA last summer (2002). After a couple of weeks we could see a huge progress in both children's Chinese. They started enjoying talking and learning Chinese. Their interest in Chinese has since flourished. SCA provides not only the outstanding Chinese curriculum but also various activities, such as math, reading, games, and field trips. We are very happy that we have such a wonderful Chinese school so close to our home."
Jane & Hao Qu

"Dino went to the Chinese Academy Summer School of 2002. He had had no prior exposure to Asian cultures and we were eager to expose him to a different culture. While attending school, he would describe us the logic of ideograms and started recognizing symbols when we ate at Chinese restaurants. He liked the school so much that he plans to attend next year."
Jerry de Raad and Monika Machado

"Both my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter attended summer school last year (2001) and have continued attending during the academic year. We appreciate not only the high commitment to educational integrity of the the school director, and teachers, but also the enthusiasm of the educators who make learning a second language enjoyable. Since attending the Sammamish Chinese Academy, my children's speaking and reading abilities have improved markedly and the summer program really helps them take a giant leap forward before starting back in with their other academic commitments during the school year."
Rachel Knight and Jonathan Love

"Both our daughter and son attended the summer camp again at SCA last year (2001). We all enjoyed the program, especially my 5-year-old son. Ever since the Chinese summer program, our son has been speaking more and more Chinese at home. The afternoon reading enrichment program taught my son to read and has sparked his reading interestever since. We feel that children not only have fun but also learn a lot at SCA. We also enjoyed the safe and convenient location of the school."
Lihong Li & Jin Wu

"We were surprised and very pleased when Nikko started speaking full sentences in Chinese after only two weeks in the Sammamish Chinese Academy last summer (2001). Before then, although Nikko could understand Chinese, he was not able to speak much at all. This is mostly because only Mom speaks Chinese to him at home. Now he is truly fluent in both Chinese and English. Thank you, Sammamish Chinese Academy."
Jun-Shan Wey and David Rush

"The summer program (2001) was innovative because it touches not only the language but fun things like games and culture aspects. Our 12-year-old daughter was excited to go and thoroughly enjoyed herself."
Candace Wilkins & Steven Chun

"My son and daughter attended last summer's (2000) Chinese Academy Program. They loved the program and it sparked their interest in learning Chinese. They asked to continue Chinese lessons in the fall. They both are excited to return to the program this summer. The staff at the Chinese Academy are skilled teachers who understand how to make learning fun and how to find what works for each individual child. It is a wonderful program."
Nancy Kaplan

"Both our daughter and son attended the summer camp at SCA last year (2000). We all enjoyed the program, especially my then 4-year-old son. Ever since the Chinese summer program, our son has been speaking more and more Chinese at home. We feel that children not only have fun but also learn a lot at SCA. We also enjoyed the safe and convenient location of the school."
